I’m not sure who is in charge of hiring at the Redding Police Department, but I think might be time for someone to retire.

Since I moved into my into my neighborhood in 2006:

My 2002 Toyota Tundra was stolen out of my driveway, and later found wrecked.

My neighbor (at the time) caught some kids trying to steal his car, chased ‘em down and proceeded to get beat by a horde of them.

My other neighbor had a bunch of tools stolen from his garage.

Our cars were broken into FIVE times, uh, the latest this morning.

My quiet 80-something neighbor just had her house TP’d and soaped.

Absolutely zero of these items got resolved by the RPD.

BUT, I park my RV in front of my house for a few weeks to fix it up, and our noble police department (looking out for the public good!) threatens me with Illegal Camping, and they say they will tow it away (good luck, it’s 18,000lbs).

This most likely occured because I called them this morning to report my fifth car break in. I’m sure Officer Friendly drove to my house, and saw a crime in progress (my RV parked) and since the car burgler was long gone, figured he’d cite me instead. At least he got someone!

W. T. F. Redding Police? Seriously? I’ll save you some time: you’ve got the wrong guy. The bad guys were the ones that stole my phone out of my car this morning.

I have a new tagline for their website: “Redding Police: Incompetency… defined.”
